What Aging Gracefully in Hip-Hop looks like…

The Clipse achieved legendary status years ago. But, the duo has shown the world that the elite do not neglect the basics. Whether it’s attention to detail with their highly praised rollout or their sharp delivery, the Clipse gives hip-hop fans some nostalgia, new listeners a look into their own world, and everybody a piece of them with LET GOD SORT EM OUT.

One of the biggest worries with the Clipse album was how Pharrell would sound especially with his output over the recent years. However, he has delivered giving Clipse the synergy and musical support they need, while also flexing his versatility. With So Be It, Chains and Whips, F.I.C.O and more, the legendary producers flexes his high execution level with a high stakes situation such as this and also his versatility.

Of course the brothers are rapping on a high level on this album, this is a capstone in what elite delivery and metaphors combined looks like. The conviction and strength displayed through the duo on this project is what a return is suppose to look like. On top of that getting Ab-Liva, Tyler the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Stove Good Cooks, Nas and more on this project of people who are passionate about what they do.

But, the biggest shock of the album is the transparency of the Clipse losing their loved ones and showing the world that human connection which makes the album bigger than just hip-hop. It is a story of two brothers with unshakable conviction and we all have things we do whether it is for someone or ourselves. Music is powerful and if it doesn’t make you feel something then what is the point.

This is a story about perseverance. Conviction. “Never give up that’s the motto” as Malice says. Our loved ones live through us and Clipse let’s us know we can do it and that they are watching over us.
